Is it easy to calibrate?

Yes. The Animas® Vibe® CGM-enabled insulin pump lets you calibrate when it’s convenient, as long as your glucose reading is between 2.2 mmol/L and 22.2 mmol/L. A minimum of 2 calibrations are needed each day, at least every 12 hours, and you must confirm your glucose reading with a fingerstick test before taking action.

What are the main advantages of having CGM integrated right in the pump?

1. One of the best things about having CGM right in the pump is that the pump tracks Insulin on Board, so you can quickly see how much insulin is still active in the body. Seeing the glucose value and trending information is one thing, but understanding how much bolus insulin is still actually working provides an additional piece of valuable insight to make an informed decision on what to do.

2. With the CGM display right on the pump, that is one less device to carry. And you can’t lose it or forget to take it with you – it’s connected to you!

Can I expect accurate and precise basal and bolus dosing?

Absolutely. Thanks in part to a Swiss-made motor and patented drive technology, Animas® pumps deliver the finest basal increment available (0.025U/hr) across all basal rates to meet the needs of even the most insulin sensitive users.

Bolus delivery as low as 0.05U can help precisely match insulin with food intake and correct high blood glucose readings for fine-tuned control.

Can I customize my own alerts?

Yes. You can’t always feel symptoms when you’re going high or going low, but the customizable high and low alerts, along with the rise and fall rate alerts, can let you know where you’re headed and how fast so you can take action sooner. Prevention is better than reaction!

The Animas® Vibe® also has a built-in, non-adjustable hypo safety alarm for extra peace of mind.
